Poetry

What do these poems suggest about the way we should approach poetry? That we shouldn't stress or try to think about too hard. That every word in the poem is needed and not rubbish.

what is one specific example(evidence from the text)?
For there is no core
or stem
or rind
or pit
or seed
or skin
to throw away

Introduction to Connections

Questions to answer when viewing/reading texts:
  1. How does viewing this text through a child’s perspective change the way we experience it? Explain using an example from the text. it would be bland because adults have shown fewer emotions. Jojo grows up around nazi's so he only knew how to be a nazi, whereas the adults could choose.
  2. How would this text be different if it were told from the perspective of an adult? How would the audience’s experience be different? The adults knew the dangers of saying their beliefs and thoughts on the Nazi's. So would be a lot darker than through a kid's eyes.
  3. Why did the filmmaker or author decide to tell this story from a child’s perspective? He was able to
  4. How are children represented in the text? How are adults represented in the text? The kids look dumb as they were easily manipulated into being a nazi. The adults were seen as a lot more powerful as they manipulated the kids and had their own opinions on things.
  5. Does imagination help the young hero to cope? How so? Provide an example.
  6. Does this text connect in any other ways to the other texts you have read/viewed? How so? Provide evidence and explain.

Englsih-

  1. What film techniques/aspects are there? I re-watched the video and realized that at the start the lighting was very dim and around the end it was light. They also yous a variety of different camera angles. Some of the camera angles they used were over the shoulder, close up shot and Pov shot.
  2. What do they sound and look like? There was one Pov shot where Eddie was looking at the pill. There was background music.
  3. What are their effects?  The detector uses voice overs, background music, A effect of the camera making things look wobbly and text.
  4. Why do you think the director used them? I think he want to make the movie look more interesting. He didn't want to give away the whole movie so keep some important details out.
  5. How do the aspects combine for effect with other aspects? The lighting changes from dull to brighter. At the start it makes things look sad but in the middle-to end it makes things look happy. This works well because around that time things where going well for Eddie.

Places in books

Author-“People’s lives, in Jubilee as elsewhere, were dull, simple, amazing, and unfathomable – deep caves paved with kitchen linoleum.”

ontario canada

Continued(What Chyna and I wrote)
Day in, Day out all they did was work. They never thought about leaving the small town. Most people had tiny pear-green houses. The houses were green so that they could hide from all predators. The biggest predator was a young girl called Stevie. Stevie had a sickening smell of rotten fruits and vegetables. She smelt so bad it made all the crops die instantly. In the dry season, they had wet the plants with the fog.
